Teens Need Their Own Space! July 19, 2011

For any Mom and Dad, Grandmother and Grandfather or Teacher, it’s easy to plainly see that teens need and want their own space. Well, Robinhood Pediatrics (formerly Forsyth Pediatrics of Robinhood) wholeheartedly agrees – and gets it!

For well over a decade, Robinhood Pediatrics has had a dedicated program focused on teens. But now our teen patients have their own dedicated “space” with Robinhood Adolescent Medicine, fully staffed with a dedicated team of doctors and staff.

“Teens have always been cared for in a unique and individual way here at Robinhood Pediatrics. But now our adolescent or teen program is catered to the teen, with their private lobby and patient rooms dedicated just for them, “ says Dr. David Rainey.

In the new building, teens sign in and can move to the teen lobby away from the pediatric patients, while awaiting their appointment. As young adults and gaining independence, teens often show up for appointments without parents. The new environment gives them separation from the younger pediatric patients and allows them to take responsibility for their health, and their life. Additionally, they are seen by our doctors who are dedicated to teen patients and have extensive experience in helping teens and the dynamics they face during these developmental years. All aspects of teen health and overall well-being are considered – physical, emotional, mental, even sexual – to provide the best comprehensive care possible.

“We understand that teens are more mature today than ever before. We can help them as they navigate physical ailments as well as emotional stresses they encounter. Because of our long history in adolescent medicine, both our teens and their parents find comfort in our approach,” states Dr. Rainey.
